This is the SUPERLIFT 4 Inch suspension lift kit for the 1980-1996 Ford Bronco. With a SUPERLIFT suspension and a little more tire, your classic Ford Bronco will have an awesome stance and better off-road ground clearance.

This SUPERLIFT system is designed for Ford Bronco owners looking to gain more ground clearance, wheel travel flexibility, and a level profile. Our K485 addresses all of your lift kit needs in terms of product quality, durability, craftsmanship, and price. It includes everything you need to lift your legendary Ford Bronco. SUPERLIFT does have personalized options and upgrades to enhance your install plus steering & handling performance.

Ford Bronco is a true blue Ford American off-road icon. Ford used their tried-and-true solid axle coil spring suspension with radius arms and a front track bar. It consists of two radius arms that locate the axle front-to-rear. The track bar handles the side-to-side axle location. The track bar helps locate and stabilize the frame (& body) in relation to the axle housing. The rear suspension configuration is a solid axle with leaf springs.

These radius arms attach to the axle above and below the axle’s centerline. These arms also control the ‘roll’ of the axle known as caster.

The radius arm sandwiches a roughly diamond-shaped pad that is cast or welded on the axle. In between the two front pieces of the radius arm is a two-piece C-shaped bushing to absorb road vibrations and give the suspension some movement. In stock form, the radius arms are parallel with the frame. Once lifted, the radius arms become angled because the axle end moves downward and the frame end remains fixed in the factory mount. To restore the lost caster, SUPERLIFT includes a new radius arm to frame relocation bracket. These brackets lower the radius arm’s rear location. This makes the radius arm run parallel to the frame and to ‘roll’ the axle back to its proper caster location.

Features:

  • SUPERLIFT engineers develop these 4-inch front lift coil springs to give you the best ride and handling characteristics available. They’re pre-set to reduce fatigue in the steel, minimize settling and guarantee a consistent ride height. Shot-peened to increase tensile strength and allow maximum wheel travel without sacrificing the life of the springs.
  • In the rear, SUPERLIFT provides a 3 inch rear block kit complete with proven cast steel blocks, U-bolts, nuts, and washers.
  • Included in this system is a set of four (4) Superlift hydraulic shocks absorbers. Superlift shock absorbers are designed to provide excellent ride quality, durability, and longevity. They feature 10-stage, velocity-sensitive valving for maximum control on or off-road without sacrificing a comfortable ride. Shock resistance is continually adjusted, depending on the terrain and vehicle speed.
  • The 4-inch lift for this ‘lift friendly’ Ford design is simple and straight-forward. Included are detailed instructions suitable for do-it-yourselfers (DIY) or for installers alike.
  • Front: Coil springs (1 pair); radius arm drop brackets (2); Supplied Hardware; Superlift Shocks (2).
  • Rear: Rear block kit; 3 inch cast steel blocks (2); U-bolts (4); heavy-duty flat washers (8); U-bolt long nuts (8); Superlift Shocks (2).

NOTE: If equipped with factory anti-sway bar, the links should be sectioned and welded.

NOTE: If extended length brake lines are not used, the factory brake hoses and steel lines must be re-routed. Using extended hoses makes for a much simpler and cleaner installation.

NOTE: If your Ford Bronco is factory-equipped with auxiliary (dual) front shocks also order quantity one (1) #85280 and one (1) #85300 Superide shocks.

NOTE: Dropped pitman arm #1104 and the adjustable drag link #1114 fit models with inverted ‘T’ style steering linkage.

NOTE: Optional extended length brake hoses recommended. Our front sway bar relocation kit is suggested if full suspension articulation is desired. The optional Superunner Steering System conversion is Highly Recommended for Optimal Steering Performance.

Manufacturers' wheel offset and backspacing measurement points are not always consistent. Backspacing greatly impacts tire-to-fender clearance when turning. Wheel width and backspacing influence whether the tires protrude past the fenders, and to what extent. Considering these important factors, we recommend that you fit-check your tire/wheel selection prior to purchasing.
